Nugget 5 arrives with animated wallpapers and more
Nugget, the popular iOS customization tool from developer LeminLimez, which relies on the SparseRestore exploit rather than a full jailbreak, is getting a major update. Version 5.0 promises to bring exciting new features for users, including live wallpapers for the lock screen! Now that’s the jailbreak vibe we love!
What is Nugget?
Nugget allows you to customize non-jailbroken iPhones and iPads running iOS 17.0-18.X via a Mac or Windows computer, mimicking the functionality of many jailbreak tweaks and enabling additional features.
The full list of features is available on the developer’s GitHub page. Nugget uses the SparseRestore exploit, the same one used to install TrollStore on iOS 17.0. In doing so, it can write files outside the intended restore location, such as mobilegestalt.
This can change the appearance and behavior of the device without jailbreaking, but carries a slight risk of instability and reboot loops. Therefore, it is recommended that you back up all your data before trying Nugget to avoid losing it if you need to restore your device to factory settings in the event of a problem.

A promising update for Nugget :
Among the additions, Nugget, in its version 5, will offer animated wallpapers and custom designs for the poster board. These options, compatible with iOS and iPadOS 17 as well as updates 18.0 through 18.4 beta, will integrate animated backgrounds directly into the “Collections” section of the system settings, for a smooth and native experience. Other features are also teased by the developer; we will update the article accordingly.
Imminent launch and early access :
Beta testers, including Discord Nitro subscribers and Ko-Fi backers, will be able to try these new features starting this weekend, ahead of the official launch. To follow the progress, join the Cowabunga Discord server.
